Toldari is a place for your real relationships: the people who matter, the details worth remembering, the nudge to reach out before too long. It's built private-first for one reason: what you keep here is yours. We don't mine it, sell it, or turn it into a product. Ever.

Our core promise

You're our customer, not our product. We earn money when people choose to buy the app, never from your life inside it. We are not and do not want to be a data broker or in the advertising business.

What we collect

The core information you put into Toldari Standard (the people you add, your notes, plans, reminders, and check-in preferences) is stored locally on your device. Except where noted for opt-in premium features, we do not collect it, we cannot see it, and it is never uploaded to a server we control as part of normal use of Standard features.

Toldari has no account system for its core experience and requires no sign-up to use. There's nothing for us to harvest.

What we do not do, even with data used by Premium features:

• We do not sell your data. Ever.
• We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not mine your contacts or build a social graph.
• We do not track you across apps or around the web.
• We do not embed advertising trackers, or analytics that identify you, follow you across sites, or build a profile of you.

About this website

This marketing site (toldari.app) uses privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics so we can see how many people visit, where they came from, and which pages and buttons they find useful. It sets no cookies, collects no personal information, does not follow you to other sites, and never builds a profile of you. We see only aggregate counts, never individual people. This is separate from the Toldari app itself, which stays local-first exactly as described above.

Newsletter

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address, and nothing else. It is handled on our behalf by Buttondown, our email provider. Subscribing is double opt-in, so you confirm your address before anything is sent, and you can unsubscribe from any email at any time. We do not track opens or clicks. Your email is used only to send you Toldari updates and occasional writing, and it is never sold, shared, or mined. This is entirely optional and separate from using the app.

Device permissions

Toldari may ask for certain permissions on your device, for example, access to your contacts so you can add the people you care about, or to your calendar and notifications so it can offer gentle check-in nudges. These permissions are used only to provide the feature you asked for, on your device. You can grant or deny them at any time in your device settings, and Toldari respects your choice.

Premium features

Premium is an optional subscription. Some Premium features (such as encrypted backups and additional ways to connect) rely on services that run beyond your device. Encrypted backups are protected with a recovery code that we never store off your device, so they stay private to you and we can't read them. Other features work differently: collaborative tools like the Meeting helper have to share certain details (proposed times and places, and who is weighing in) with the people in your group, so those data points are processed on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. Even then, we keep only what the feature needs to work, we follow industry standards for encryption in transit and at rest, and we never sell, mine, or hand that information to advertisers or data brokers. Server-side processing happens only for the specific features that need it, and only when you choose to use them.

Subscription billing is handled by the app store you purchased through (Google Play or the Apple App Store) under that store's own privacy practices. We receive only what we need to confirm an active subscription, never your relationship data.

Children

Toldari is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age required by your local law for app use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we ever update this policy, we will revise the date above. Because Toldari is local-first by design, any change will continue to honor the core promise: your data is yours, on your device, and never sold, shared, or tracked.
